The Tropical Disease Foundation Inc. (TDFI) is currently accepting applications for a Tuberculosis Technical Team Lead for an anticipated USAID-funded Tuberculosis Visayas and Mindanao Activity (TB Vis Min) activity in the Philippines. The TB Vis Min activity is a key component of the USAID Universal Health Care Project (UHCP) aimed at improving health outcomes for underserved Filipinos.
The TB Technical Team Lead will work in close collaboration with technical focal points from consortium members, the DOH, the USAID mission and stakeholders, like representatives from the affected communities and other USAID projects. Lead in the design, development and dissemination of TB patient-centered care and demand generation interventions. Working closely with TB patients and CSOs s/he will also lead interventions on capacity building for behavior change, TB programing and field work monitoring.
The position will be based in Cebu, Philippines and the position is contingent upon award and funding.
Responsibilities:
· Provide technical guidance and oversight of the project and lead interventions on capacity building for behavior change, including the engagement of TB patients and civil society in all aspects of TB programing and monitoring.
· Responsible field working closely with patients, providers and organizations to identify and to put in place appropriate models of detection, care and treatment.
· Maintain a strong and wide network with key partners and stakeholders in the tuberculosis arena and ensures that the project is represented on appropriate steering and advisory groups.
· Oversee all technical assistance and administrative support activities under the project.
· Ensure that all project deliverables are met in a high quality and timely manner.
· Ensure compliance with all donor-related, organization’s, and project-specific policies.
· Provide managerial oversight to all project activities and partnerships, and ensure compliance with the organization’s and USG regulations
· Ensure effective communication across the entire project with team and relevant stakeholders.
· Coordinate with other donor implementing partners on common objectives and activities, as needed.
· Supports performance management and professional development of direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support.
Required Qualifications:
· Advanced degree (Medical Degree, Masters, or Ph D) in medicine, public health, nursing, applied clinical research, or other relevant medical or public health field;
· Minimum 10 years of progressive, focused experience in the management, design, execution, and monitoring of tuberculosis activities and projects;
· Minimum 5 years of experience in TB with success in engaging and building capacity of health providers, institutions, and organizations to deliver patient-centered care;
· Demonstrated ability to obtain, analyze, organize, and interpret relevant information, education and communication (IEC)/BCC data and use this data to design, develop and deploy communication interventions for TB.
· Relevant experience in CLA or other adaptive management approaches
· Strong organizational and management skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships with a wide network of partners and stakeholders.
