ROLE SUMMARY
Our client is looking for a knowledgeable and proactive IRS Advocate to join their dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of US tax law, with a focus on supporting self-employed individuals through complex tax scenarios involving rentals, investments, payroll, and sales taxes. The ideal candidate will be adept at both written and verbal communications, responding effectively to IRS and state tax issues, and committed to the company’s core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence.
WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (12:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Respond promptly to IRS and state tax notices and inquiries via phone and written communications
• Timely follow up with open issues by updating the client on resolution status.
• Ensure accuracy in data entry and financial reporting through double checking data entry vs. documents, while being able to look for missed opportunities
• Provide constructive feedback on how to mitigate government notices in the future
• Facilitate direct coordination with the US-based team for training and meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in the related field
• 5+ years of managing/resolving government notices
• Must be an enrolled agent or Certified Public Accountant
• Extensive knowledge of US Tax Law, particularly with its application to self-employment and small business operations
• Experience dealing with IRS and state tax issues, including payroll and sales taxes
• Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Lacerte Tax software
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting
