Welfare Officer & Coordinator

Job Title: Workers Welfare Officer & Coordinator
Location: Doha-Qatar
Key Responsibilities:
· Compliance and Monitoring: Ensure all workers’ welfare standards comply with Ashghal’s Workers Welfare Standards (WWS), Qatar Labor Law, and international labor best practices.
· Accommodation Management: Monitor the living conditions and facilities of labor accommodation, ensuring that it meets the requirements set forth by Ashghal and the Ministry of Labor.
· Health & Safety: Coordinate with the Health and Safety teams to implement and maintain safe working environments and ensure workers have access to necessary medical care and services.
· Welfare Activities: Organize and promote welfare programs such as health awareness campaigns, recreational activities, and training sessions to improve workers' well-being.
· Grievance Handling: Establish and manage a grievance mechanism, addressing and resolving worker complaints and concerns promptly.
· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of workers, including accommodation details, welfare initiatives, grievances, and resolutions.
· Liaison: Act as a liaison between the workers, the management, and external stakeholders, ensuring proper communication and addressing welfare-related issues.
· Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness sessions to workers on their rights, welfare standards, and grievance procedures.
· Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the workers' welfare conditions and submit them to Ashghal and company management.
· Audits: Assist in external and internal audits related to workers' welfare and ensure corrective actions are taken in case of non-compliance.
· Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response plans and ensure that workers are aware of emergency procedures and support systems available.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Social Work, or related fields.
· Experience: At least 4 years of experience in workers' welfare management, specifically within Ashghal or similar infrastructure projects in Qatar.
· Knowledge: Strong understanding of Qatar Labor Law, Workers Welfare Standards (WWS), and international labor standards.
· Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, with knowledge of Arabic and other languages being an advantage.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to handle and resolve workers’ grievances in a professional and efficient manner.
· Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment and manage relations with workers from various nationalities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: QAR1.00 - QAR3.00 per month
