Digital Mine is leading the way in creating safer, smarter, and greener mining solutions. The mining industry, crucial to the global economy, faces challenges like safety, technological advancement, and sustainability. To tackle these, companies are adopting safer practices with strict safety protocols and advanced technologies to prevent accidents. They are also becoming smarter by using machine learning, data analytics, and remote monitoring to boost efficiency and productivity. Role: Commercial Director – Africa, Europe, and Middle East
Location: Johannesburg
How will you make a difference?
Based in South Africa and reporting to the Global Commercial Director you will be responsible for leading the sales team, responsible for driving new business development, and executing the regional channels strategy to achieve the company’s growth goals.
What will your typical day look like?
  • Drive and manage the growth of regional sales orders by implementing effective sales strategies, identifying new market opportunities, and optimising existing sales processes to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Lead efforts in securing new business by identifying potential clients, developing tailored sales pitches, and closing deals. Track and report on the number of new accounts secured to measure success and inform future strategies.
  • Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure a healthy flow of opportunities. Utilise forecasting tools and techniques to predict sales trends accurately, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Develop and execute customer retention strategies to maintain and enhance client relationships. Focus on understanding customer needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Oversee and support the sales team to ensure high performance and continuous development. Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to help team members achieve their individual and collective goals.
What do we want to know about you?
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Sales experience, in a leadership role within the mining or industrial sector.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and large accounts, particularly in technical solutions and services.
  • Proven track record of opening doors and building relationships with senior executives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
