Purpose of the Position

• To assist in the execution of the production activities required to deliver high quality sporting broadcasts for the Channel aligned to the Standards of the Super Sport brand.

Key Area Outputs

• Pre-production planning for studio, galleries and SCCR
• Live Production management/produce (studio, galleries and SCCR)
• Post-Production duties (Promotional material and post broadcast content)
• Team Collaboration (Internal departments and attend meetings)
• Technical knowledge and troubleshooting
• Content Creation and Innovation
• Compliance and Standards

Creative Control

• Drive and control the creative process as per best practice
• Make sure creative content is appropriate to the look and feel of the product
• Ensure new programme ideas that add value to productions are well researched and suggested
• Make suggestions from all levels of staff are taken into account in the creative process Editorial Control/ Content Origination
  
  


• Make sure content of Build-ups, inserts and live events meets requirements of target audience whilst remaining sensitive to the current political situation as per Super Sport guidelines
• Ensure content meets standards of Super Sport Brand
• Inform and prepare team on research to be conducted and communication of correct information regarding content
• Ensure appropriate presenters and guests are sourced, trained and hired based on their knowledge, expertise and contribution and in compliance with
• EE Policy Budget Management
  
• Make sure cost effective use of resources and that productions stays within budget
• Make sure targets are met as per department requirements
Ensure relevant parties are informed regarding billing requirements

Keep staff up to date of current performance (positive performance and development areas) through ongoing timeous feedback and formal performance reviews

• Facilitate thorough pre-production resulting in all production elements being completed and available on time
• Make sure production format includes contingency plans
• Accurate running orders – all staff fully understand their function in the production
Post production – all relevant paperwork is completed and submitted.

  Qualifications
  
• Equivalent NQF Level 6 Qualification, Diploma or Degree Experience/Skills
  
• A minimum of 3 to 5 Years’ experience working in a production environment or similar
• Sound knowledge and understanding of live broadcasting, pre and post-production
• Proven experience in other departments in television
• Experienced in Broadcast Technology
