Senior Outbound Sales Associate -SME Sales

Why we’re hiring for this role:
As a Senior Sales Associate, you will play a critical role in our SME sales team, responsible for generating and converting leads through outbound sales strategies and managing relationships with key partners to drive growth. You will use online/telephonic conversations as well as in person visits to promote Peach Payments offerings and successfully sell the Peach Payments value proposition.
You will target merchants with monthly trading volumes of R 1,000,000 to R 5,000,000 , focusing on onboarding and engaging them to become transacting customers. In addition to outbound efforts, you will manage inbound leads aligned with your designated region and tier.

As a Senior Sales Associate, you will play a critical role in our SME sales team, responsible for generating and converting leads through outbound sales strategies and managing relationships with key partners to drive growth. You will target merchants with monthly trading volumes of R 1,000,000 to R 5,000,000 , focusing on onboarding and engaging them to become transacting customers. In addition to outbound efforts, you will manage inbound leads aligned with your designated region and tier.
What you'll be doing:
Lead Generation & Outbound Sales:
- Develop and execute outbound sales strategies to identify, qualify, and reach potential merchants in the SME sector.
- Proactively source and approach high-potential leads, effectively communicating the benefits of Peach Payments’ solutions.
- Manage the entire sales pipeline from initial outreach to closing, focusing on converting leads into transacting merchants and meet Sales Target.
- Build and maintain relationships with key strategic partners to support lead generation and broaden reach.
- Collaborate with partners on co-marketing, co-selling, and referral opportunities to drive lead flow and revenue growth.
- Handle inbound leads within your assigned region and tier, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion.
- Use a consultative approach to assess merchant needs and present relevant Peach Payments solutions.
- Lead new merchants through the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless transition to transacting status.
- Educate merchants on product offerings, assisting with integration and optimizing their experience with Peach Payments.
- Gather feedback on merchant needs, market trends, and competitive insights, providing recommendations to the product and marketing teams.
- Stay informed of industry developments and competitor activities to adapt and improve outreach and engagement strategies.
- Work collaboratively with Peach Payments’ marketing and technology departments to evolve our sales strategy when new features and products are introduced
What we’d like you to have:
- 5+ years Experience in B2B sales, with a focus on outbound sales strategies and partnership management- specifically in the online Payments Industry
- Fluency in English
- Unmatched consultative selling and closing skills
- Accurate forecasting and pipeline management
- Track record of being a high performer (e.g. over quota)
- A sharp focus on your goals and a strong approach for achieving them
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship building skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritized tasks to meet objectives.
- Experience working in a high-growth, "scale up" environment
- Passion for helping businesses grow and curiosity about the tech industry
- Humility and enthusiasm in their work
- A valid work authorisation to work in South Africa
