ABOUT MAMATWAN
The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position. As a technician control and instrumentation, you will be responsible to safely execute maintenance work according to prescribed standards.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Ensure optimal asset life through application of good maintenance practices;

• Execute all maintenance work in a safe manner;

• Identify and report stoppages or work requirements

• Perform lockouts and make the work area safe;

• Test and commission equipment prior to handover;

• Route Completed Work Orders to the Supervisor;

• PLC programing and commissioning of new installations/projects;

• Fault finding/localising on the plants by using the PLC;

• SCADA configuration for new equipment and upgrades as required;

• Attend to breakdowns effectively minimizing down time;

• Building/Installation of new PLC networks (Profibus DP) to provide IO for automation of existing and new equipment;

• Keep all PLC and Adroit records and drawings updated.

ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in maintenance post qualification;

• Knowledge about PLC’s and SCADA , ethernet and profibus networks ;

Qualifications for this role are:

• Valid N6 national diploma (electrical/electronics / control instrumentation) OR

• A N3 red seal trade certificate with a minimum of 5 years on-field experience in control and

instrumentation based maintenance.

• Valid drivers license.
