Qualifications/Experience Required:
You:
- Have strong birding skills and an interest in learning
- Are equally interested in the environment as you are in growing professionally and personally
- Appreciate a good debate, even with your boss
- Figure out how to fix a problem instead of who to blame
- Paid for your own belongings when you were a teenager/student
- Want work that excites you on a Monday morning
- Have an Honours or Master’s degree in the zoological or ecological sciences
- Excited to travel extensively throughout South Africa, often to remote areas
- Have field experience doing faunal surveys and good research skills
- Experience using QGis
- Excellent communication skills and able to work with a range of people from government authorities to landowners and developers
- Want to grow professionally as a faunal specialist
- Love what we do and who we work with
- Like real food and exercise
- Believe that rest is important for productivity
- Value innovation, fun, trust, honesty, integrity and respect
- Enjoy a good debate
- Value our staff and want to play to their strengths
Although our team is situated in Cape Town, we work remotely. If you are self-motivated and are someone who works well from home, we don’t mind where you are located provided you have a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
