Senior Packaging Engineer
This position reports into Regional Technical Director and is based at Cheongju, South Korea.

What you will do
The Senior Packaging Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing packaging solutions to ensure product safety and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in packaging design and materials:
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for site product’s packaging development, from NPD to SC supported projects, from idea to launch, cover end to end packaging development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement packaging strategies that optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Provide new and innovative packaging concepts and designs that are relevant to the region/country’s business needs;
- Realize packaging designs by developing innovative packaging format with professional packaging expertise including mould, flexible material, carton, decoration, filling requirement needs, etc. Deliver CIP, compliance projects when business needs.
- Closely collaborate with MKT to meet customer/consumer needs; collaborate with supply chain to ensure developed pkg meet with machine needs; collaborate with RA, ENG, MS&T, MFG, QA, etc.
- Ensure projects are developed under governance launch model.
- Design packaging qualification plan and follow all necessary qualification tests.
- Support BOMs/ related packaging process accurately.
- Lead trial run and review qualification activities related to packaging molds, filling lines and packaging equipment/instruments.
- Lead the development of new packaging materials and technologies to improve product performance and sustainability, support troubleshooting activities related to packaging (if needed), such as: customer complaints, deviations, non-conformance and CAPA.
- Ensure clear communication of project status to relevant departments and management and bring to their attention any potential problems.
- Develop interrelationships with cross-functional peers, affiliates, and suppliers.
- Provide technical services related to packaging and packaging processes to internal customers.
- Provide supervision/advice for marketing in packaging development, potential cost impact, color selection, dimension, and everything related to product development.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet project dead lines.
- Deliver other tasks assigned by line manager.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in packaging design and engineering
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to think creatively and solve complex problems
- Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams
- Proven track record of developing innovative packaging solutions that meet customer needs
