Job summary
The Royal School of Artillery is an International Centre of Excellence for Artillery Training, comprising of a blended workforce of highly qualified military instructors from the Royal Artillery and exchange foreign artillery Instructors and Civil Servants. The RSA's mission is to deliver trained and motivated service personnel capable of operating the artillery system of systems, and leadership skills.
The Post is part of the Royal Electrical Mechanical (REME) Workshop (Wksp), the RSAs Vehicle maintenance, recovery, and equipment care department.
The successful applicant will be part of a small but lively team working on a wide range of vehicles, including armoured tracked and wheeled vehicles in support of the training fleet for the RSA. You will have a consistent track record in repairing Light & Heavy Vehicles either within commercial civilian Workshops or the REME. Our Vehicle Mechanics have a keen eye for the finer detail, are enthusiastic about delivering the highest level of standards, all whilst working as part of a team to deliver results as efficiently as possible to meet our customer's expectations.

Job description
The role of a Light & Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Carrying out a variety of maintenance and repair work on various Military Equipment.
- Visual inspections and care of Military vehicles.
- Completion of all relevant documentation.
- Working with experienced System Technicians on more complex and extensive diagnostic and repair tasks.
- Ability to work in a team and as an individual.
- Ensure that appropriate quality standards are achieved and maintained in all aspects of their work with the interpretation and application of regulations and conditions where required.
- Comply with regulations published under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 insofar as they apply to the practices and processes carried out at their place of work.
- Carry out all aspects of Mandatory Training including IM Training and JAMES Training as required by role.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.

The sift will be completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date.
