Bid Manager

London

FULL TIME

August 30, 2024

We are one of the UK's leading communication and language services providers to companies and Government departments and work with a large network of associates and trainers across multiple languages and locations.
We are looking for a skilled Bid Manager to join our team in London, to lead the proposal and bid process, from opportunity identification to proposal submission. We have had significant success in winning bids across the UK and EU over the last several years, from both government departments and corporates, due to the strength of our offering. The role requires a mix of new business tender responses (in current and new territories and leveraging our other areas of competence) and ensuring current business is re-bid for and won at each renewal.
Overview of the role:
This role will be responsible for end-to-end execution of bid proposals, building and developing solutions in line with frameworks and objectives and building off the shelf bid solutions in line with bid specific requirements. It is an individual contributor role but will require you to co-ordinate across stakeholders to achieve results. This position requires a blend of exceptional project management skills, writing skills, diligent research abilities and a continuous focus on increasing the number of high-value bids being completed while maintaining high conversion rates.
As a business, we pride ourselves on our results-driven, high integrity culture and the position requires you to be a competent, driven and highly self-motivated person willing to learn and grow with the business. The role works alongside the senior management team and could grow to managing people based on the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Win new business and retain current business through the RFP/ Tender process
  • Research and assess market opportunities, manage ongoing and expected opportunity pipeline and make bid/no bid recommendations
  • End to end bid management including coordination, managing timescales, setting realistic deadlines, tracking completion, design and on-time compliant submissions
  • Identify and engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to collate information for bid submissions, including liaising with subject matter experts to develop case studies
  • Design and write winning bids, proposals and technical responses, relating to the training industry and work on creating content and capabilities required to win
Key Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in a Bid writing or management role, ideally within the training sector
  • Experience of end-to-end bid management from opportunity identification to submission and handover to Account Management/Operations
  • Proven track record of producing successful bids, tenders, and proposals with evidence of high conversion rates
Key Attributes:
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of balancing multiple bids simultaneously
  • Proven prioritisation and time-management skills
  • Process driven, highly organised with strong administration skills
  • Strong MS Office Skills
  • An innovative thinker with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into persuasive narratives
We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive environment, where every team member is empowered to contribute and excel. We are dedicated to the development of our staff, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
The role is being advertised as full-time and hybrid, but there may be flexibility for the right candidate. There will be performance based incentives based on the increase in profitability due to bids won and retained.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
Additional pay:
  • Performance bonus
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • Business Development: 2 years (preferred)
  • Project management: 2 years (preferred)
  • Bid Writing: 5 years (preferred)
Work authorisation:
  • United Kingdom (required)
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
