Job summary
You will accomplish the mainstay of the role through the day-to-day administration and expeditious handling of all Officer and Other Rank (OR) cases within the HQ; by mentoring candidates through the recruitment process in accordance with the principles of effective Candidate Relationship Management (CRM); and by contributing as appropriate to Outreach activities designed to raise the profile of the RAF Reserves.
Full training and support will be given to ensure you are fully versed on the different systems and processes in place.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
- Day-to-day administration and expeditious handling of all Officer and OR cases within the Sqn.
- Ensuring the safe handling and security of test materials, medical in confidence documents, and all other sensitive material.
- Carrying out timely preparation of Officer and OR casework and scanning documentation in accordance with policy.
- Ensuring the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive RITS records on all potential Officer and OR entrants in accordance with RITS SOPs.
- Ensuring the timely dispatch of all relevant RITS communications.
- Process Candidates in accordance with extant Policy, Process, and direction from HQ R&S.
- Mentoring candidates in accordance with the principles of effective CRM, to ensure that the candidate journey is a smooth as possible, the regularity of touch points with the candidate and the necessary support and guidance is available when needed.
- Undertake and contribute to the Sqn’s RAF/RAux AF Outreach activity as required, both in and outside working hours and at weekends.
- Reading, understanding, and complying with: Weekly Recruiting Orders (WROs) Immediate Recruiting Briefs (IRBs), AP3391 and any other Orders relevant to your place of work.
- Collate and provide statistics to HQ R&S in a timely manner and ensure that a system is in place to provide routine returns when required.
- Respond to RFIs, PQs and any other requests for Sqn information, in a timely manner and as directed by the chain of command.
- Attend the annual R&S Conference, Reserves Recruiter Forums and ensure requests for additional/refresher training are complied with.
- Administer and coordinate Candidate Information Days, delivering presentations, conducting/invigilating the Defence Aptitude Assessment (DAA) and counselling/advising candidates accordingly.
- Responsible for the preparation and administration of the Specialist Interviews and when required attend to facilitate serials.
- Manage medical bookings via Capita, initiate clearances via UKSV and carry out any other duties which may reasonably be expected to ensure the efficient running of the recruitment process.
Person specification
The role uses different IT systems, but training will be given on these.
A driving licence would be desirable for an applicant.

Part-time or Job-share will only be considered provided full time hours can be covered.
