Maintenance Foreman
Working Pattern: 40 hrs per week - Monday to Friday
Location: Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire NG22
Via is currently looking for a Maintenance Foreman to join our Construction & Maintenance Team based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.
You will supervise a small team of on-site operatives who are responsible for delivering highway maintenance works and act as the initial point of contact for day-to-day operational issues.
The Job
Key areas of responsibility will include: -

• Undertake maintenance works and supervise operatives on site. Deal with day to day issues as they arise and liaise with Contract Agent to ensure all KPI’s are met.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health safety and environmental legislation and procedures taking personal responsibility for own and others Health and safety and welfare.
• Understand documentation and specifications associated with highway maintenance works and ensure system of works and method statements are adhered to for client approval.
• Be responsible for the efficient ordering, control and utilisation of materials, plant and vehicles to allow works to be completed.
• Manage, coach, and develop your team members to support individuals to achieve their potential and deliver effective business results.
• Ensure Compliance with all routine daily checks of vehicles and plant are undertaken recording to legal requirements and reporting any damages or defects found.
• To manage and control the quality of works delivered by those under your control, including the control of waste, working towards ISO 9001 and 14001 expectations as requested by the client.

The Person
Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Construction & Maintenance Team but there are just a few other things we’d like from you: -

• NVQ level 3 in Construction or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience of Highway associated works.
• Hold Industry recognised qualifications, New Roads and Street Works Act, First Aid and Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Knowledge of Construction Plant and materials associated with Highway Maintenance Works.
• Experience of supervising the works of a Team including allocating works and ensuring that objectives, standards and targets are met.
• Understanding of drivers' regulations, vehicle checks, tachographs, basic vehicle maintenance, loading and securing.
• Full current driving licence. (Cat C + E desirable)
