Assist Care Team offer Independent Supported Accommodation (ISA) for 16-25 year olds.
Due to expansion, we are looking for a Registered Manager that is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our provision ensuring they operate in line with OFSTED regulations and best practice.
Our placements are all within Northampton with close proximity to the town centre. You will have the ability to carry out placement visits and to support staff that are based in some of the placements.
The Registered Manager is responsible for delivering high quality care to the young people resident within the properties. This means that they are responsible for delivery of all care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the placements, and all day to day management matters.
The Registered Manager is responsible for providing high quality care services that support the needs of the young people, to be an advocate for their well-being and to provide strong, motivational leadership to staff.
The Registered Manager is responsible for delivering care that is focused on obtaining the best outcomes for each young person within the placement. This involves being personally available, as well as the supervision and mentoring of staff, organisation of work patterns, facilitation of care focused training, and accessing appropriate services to support the practices within the placements.
The Registered Manager will work closely with The Director, Team Managers and Support Workers assisting them to provide high quality care.
Assist Care Team is an ever evolving business, as such the successful applicant must be able to adapt to future challenges and changes the business may face.
Leadership:
- To manage staff to ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose.
- To ensure that the policies and procedures are implemented.
- To ensure that care standards are never compromised.
- To manage a designated budget (as required) ensuring that the company achieves value for money in all circumstances through the monitoring and control of expenditure and the early identification of any financial irregularity.
- To chair meetings, reviews and discussions as necessary.
- Any other such duties as may be required from time to time by the Director.
- To contribute to the development of corporate policies and service initiatives, aimed at improving the service.
- To be responsible for the effective development of a range of quality direct services to young people.
- To promote team development and effective team working.
- To have line management responsibility for the staff team, ensuring that all staff receive appropriate induction and supervision.
- To actively participate in grievance, disciplinary, health and safety and other staff matters to support the Director.
- To supervise and support the staff ensuring that the team are developed appropriately to meet the specific needs of young people in placement.
- To develop individual staff training programmes in line with company plans and needs.
- To complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for all staff to ensure that they are able to continue to provide appropriate levels of care.
- Undertake any other duties that may be required.
- To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, other staff, and other agencies, in order to meet the needs of children and young people.
- To promote a good working ethic with outside agencies and be a positive advocate for Assist Care Team.
- To liaise with the various internal and external multi-disciplinary teams and commissioning authorities to ensure that the care needs of new and existing residents are met.
- To be accountable and take responsibility for liaising with regulatory organisations in relation to the way the home is managed.
- To be responsible for a ensuring a full flow of information into and out of the team and to develop effective communication strategies and systems which assist staff in the operation of their duties.
- To ensure that all Health & Safety Regulations are complied with in accordance with policies, procedures and practices.
- To ensure all staff are aware of all Health & Safety procedures.
- To ensure that all incidents/accidents are recorded and reported according to procedures.
- To undertake fire drills and tests in accordance with procedure and record the necessary data.
- To regularly inspect the condition of the structure, fabric, furnishings and fittings of the building to ensure that all necessary equipment etc. is in good working order and of a reasonable and acceptable standard of repair.
- To maintain a clean and safe environment.
- To ensure that all repair/maintenance problems are dealt with promptly.
- To set and review targets and objectives for the placements staff team in order to ensure that work is focused and has clear direction.
- To be available outside of work hours to support staff in the event of urgent queries
- To ensure staff have the knowledge to reduce contact required outside of work hours.
- To be able to manage your own diary and be able to work alone.
- To ensure that effective finance budgets, control, administration and records comply with the companies expectations and procedures.
- To promote and implement the companies Equality & Diversity policies and procedures.
- To ensure that the team understand and implement the companies Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures.
- To ensure that professional practice in the team is carried out to the highest standards and developed in line with the Company stated objectives of continual improvement in quality of its service to internal and external customers.
- To ensure that all necessary documentation required by regulators is completed to a high standard and be available for inspections, checks or interviews as requested.
- To make sure that best practice is maintained by conducting regular quality assurance inspections.
- To set, monitor and evaluate standards at individual, team performance and service quality so that the user and Company requirements are met and that the highest standards are maintained.
Holiday; 23 days plus bank holidays (expectation that you may need to work some bank holidays however days off in lieu will be given)
