What your day will look like....
You will apply your cultural knowledge and provide support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families, helping to close the gap. You will understand the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and cultural issues, including the social determinants of health to support improved health outcomes. You will build meaningful and positive relationships to ensure holistic health care that incorporates collaborative care planning, to meet individual and family needs. As a considered and adaptable communicator, you will engage respectfully with the community while modelling the Darling Downs Health Values.
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
