Job Expectations
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A bit about your role
You will embrace Agile methodologies to work across the entire application lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and operations. You will leverage industry-leading methods, skills, tools, and practices to ensure applications are operated and evolved quickly and reliably. Supporting a team responsible for delivering and supporting IT changes related to both in-house and commercial applications, you will follow scaled agile and Dev Sec Ops practices to achieve your goals.
Your key responsibilities will include designing, coding, testing, and documenting software system changes to deliver business value to customers. You will also review system changes to ensure outcomes align with business expectations, participating in peer reviews and team ceremonies. Additionally, you will take well-defined stories as input and produce tested changes to impacted systems, including associated test cases and updates to solution documentation. You will interact frequently with various stakeholders, including the Dev Sec Ops Manager, Agile team members, value stream teams, and NBN business unit stakeholders.
You will be working within a platform team responsible for providing NBN and its RSPs with service impact assessments due to planned and unplanned change. The platform provides its consumers a holistic view of the logical and physical inventories at NBN through the lens of a graph database.
A bit about you
You will have proven experience in Java development and hands-on experience with Apache Flink for stream processing. You will be adept at working collaboratively in a team environment and participating in peer reviews. You will have experience in database management, version control using Git, and proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker and ideally have experience with graph database modelling, understanding of graph database concepts, and experience with Janusgraph.
Familiarity with telecommunications networks, particularly NBN infrastructure, and ETL processes is also advantageous. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field will set you up for success. You will possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and the capability to work effectively as part of a team. A willingness to grow with the organisation is essential.
