The Decarbonisation & Customer Strategy (DCS) Team sets the strategic direction for the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Business Unit within Customer Markets, driving AGL towards a low-carbon future by leveraging data-driven insights and strategic thinking, developing and implementing innovative solutions that deliver exceptional value to customers while optimising business performance.
The Head of Decarbonisation and Customer Strategy is responsible for leveraging business insights and market analysis to inform strategic decision-making with a strong focus on the development and management of a portfolio of innovative products and services aligned to the strategy, as well as nurturing and evolving the Complex Solutions team, positioning C&I at the forefront of the energy transition, and enabling C&I to deliver integrated energy offerings that address the evolving needs of our customers. In addition to this, you will also champion C&I as it embarks on its Retail Transformation journey, modelling the new Customer Markets mindsets and helping to shape the future C&I business.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Developing and driving the C&I strategy, aligning with the wider Customer Market strategy, and providing a focus for the team including driving revenue and profitability through the development and commercialisation of innovative electrification products, services, and propositions, optimising customer value and market share.
  • Defining and executing product strategies for electricity and gas products and pricing propositions as well as optimising pricing structures and driving revenue growth by collaborating with sales and wholesale pricing teams to develop and manage enhanced product propositions.
  • Bringing together existing products and integrating with emerging products & propositions to support sales teams with commoditisation and scaling and coordinating the design and development of a range of initiatives to enable our salespeople to deliver complex solutions to our customers.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of robust commercial governance frameworks and processes to mitigate risk and optimise commercial decision-making and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance.
  • Accountability for driving excellent commercial outcomes, decarbonisation targets and playing a critical role in contribution to C&I Business Unit OKRs.
  • Creating a culture of high performance with a focus on setting clear direction, regular review and development of direct and indirect team members within a supportive environment that delivers operational excellence.
What you’ll bring:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field coupled with proven leadership experience in the energy sector, with a strong track record in strategy development and execution and in-depth knowledge of decarbonisation technologies and trends.
  • Deep understanding of the C&I energy market, customer needs, and regulatory landscape, and expertise in developing and launching decarbonisation products and services, including complex, integrated solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, driving business growth and profitability, as well as financial analysis skills and demonstrated success in managing complex projects and driving change.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire high-performing cross-functional teams.
