. The successful applicant will display a strong understanding of PB4L and demonstrate leadership capacities in coaching and implementing appropriate programs to support increased positive behaviour. The Support Teacher: Engagement and Wellbeing will build staff capacity in the levels of teaching response through the implementation of universal supports, while monitoring targeted and personalized support across the school. - Working with teachers in a coaching approach to implement universal classroom management strategies based on the 8 Effective Classroom Practices and Responses to behaviour. - Working with students who require Tier 2 supports – check in check out; social skills, clubs and groups; mentoring - Responsible for Tier 2 targeted supports for PB4L - Responsible for levels of teaching response/targeted and strategic intervention for students - Assisting with Tier 3 supports - Working in the Tier 1 team, and also a member of Tier 2 and Tier 3 Team - Working with the Leadership Team to monitor and support student behaviour and teacher capacity.
About the role -
Holy Spirit School is seeking a Support Teacher: Engagement and Wellbeing in a full-time capacity for the 2025 school year. This teacher will oversee and support Positive Behaviour 4 Learning processes at the school and work to ensure increased social and academic outcomes for students.
As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, leaders and allied health professionals, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs. In particular you will:
- Understand PB4L: Display a strong understanding and lead in coaching and implementing positive behaviour programs.
- Build Staff Capacity: Enhance staff skills in teaching response levels and universal supports.
- Monitor Supports: Oversee targeted and personalized support across the school.
- Coach Teachers: Implement universal classroom management strategies and work with teachers using a coaching approach.
- Support Students: Provide Tier 2 supports (check-in/check-out, social skills, clubs, mentoring) and assist with Tier 3 supports.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 teams, and collaborate with the Leadership Team to support student behaviour and teacher capacity.
- Inclusive Teaching: Design and implement strategies to engage and improve education outcomes for supported students.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with peers to develop quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy.
- Student Assessment: Assess, provide feedback, and report on student learning.
- Professional Contribution: Contribute to the school’s professional life and engage in professional learning aligned with The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) goals.
About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus experience using the Australian Curriculum in a flexible manner to meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
- Know and understand the Disability Discrimination Act and apply Disability Standards for Education
- Demonstrated application of the NCCD model as part of a whole-school approach to supporting students with a disability
- Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions, and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and

All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
