Your key activities:

• Develop the Patent department, in alignment with the company's overall business goals.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of patent attorneys, engineers and paralegals. Ensure continuous professional development and training within the team.
• Analyse client needs and propose innovation and protection strategies
• Carry out patentability and freedom to operate analyses
• Draft and prosecute patent applications, including portfolio management
• Advice and represent clients in relation to IP Disputes
• Develop partnerships with professional associations, incubators, foreign associates…
• Participate to scientific and training activities – represent our firm at professional events.
  

Your profile:

• A qualified European Patent Attorney and preferably a national European patent qualification
• Specialized in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, Physics or Computer Science, although candidates with a different technical background will also be considered
• Experience in an intellectual property firm and/or an in-house patent attorney role
• Experience in patent portfolio management
• Experience in leadership and team management
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English, French and/or Dutch (written and spoken), German is a plus
• Proactive
• Service minded; precise
• A team player but having the ability to take the lead and set direction
• An analytical mind
• Strategic vision
• Ability to adapt
