Job Description
The Position
This position is will be based in Shanghai and report to the regional director of operations. This position will be responsible for ensuring ADM facilities and co-manufactures have the proper licenses to produce, sell, and distribute our products. This position will assess ADM products according to regulations related to safety. This position will also serve as a technical resource, provide guidance and help develop a safety culture for ADM offices and labs in Asia that do not have an onsite health and safety professional on site.
Your Responsibilities
Your Profile

This position will be responsible for ensuring ADM facilities and co-manufactures have the proper licenses to produce, sell, and distribute our products. This position will assess ADM products according to regulations related to safety. This position will also serve as a technical resource, provide guidance and help develop a safety culture for ADM offices and labs in Asia that do not have an onsite health and safety professional on site.
Your Responsibilities
- For all ADM products identify all safety related regulations
- Determine permits and conditions required to commercialize products
- Provide guidance and be safety resource for ADM Shanghai operations
- Provide guidance and be safety resource for ADM’s labs throughout Asia
- Help ensure colleagues are familiar with and follow ADM and government health & safety policies
- Monitor and track the license renewal processes related to product safety
- Ensure co-manufacturers have the proper licenses with regards to safety to produce ADM’s products
- Lead support and model a strong safety culture
- Spend time in the field mentoring and auditing applications of safety procedures and engaging with colleagues
- Provide technical guidance for health and safety
- Conduct occupational hygiene risk assessments
- Conduct ergonomic risk assessments and implement risk reduction measures
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, safety engineering, engineering, biology or equivalent.
- 8+ years health and safety experience
- Must be fluent in both Mandarin and English
- Good understanding of GB codes related to health and safety
- Good understanding of occupational hygiene programs (e.g. hearing conservation, respiratory protection, personal protection, and chemical management)
- Experience with GHS including product classification, labeling, and SDS generation
- Experience assessing products per regulations related to safety
- Experience with lab safety
- Experience leading cross functionally across multiple levels of organization
- Effective at developing and coaching others
- Up to 15% travel may be required
