Support Engineer – Communications (Ref: 240001EG)

Responsibilities

• Undertake design tasks assigned on a wide range of communications systems and other innovation projects with special emphasis on asset renewal, modification and enhancement
• Prepare contracts and assist in tendering for the works, provide comments and assessment on the project design submissions, attend site surveys, test and commissioning and co-ordinate interfaces with other sections / departments
• Provide technical support to other multidisciplinary projects and be responsible for the seamless integration and migration between the new works and the existing communications systems
• Conduct technical investigation in relation to major incidents and provide technical advice to maintainers
• Take up offshore assignment to support the growth business of the Corporation as required

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics / Communications Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
• Knowledge of different communications systems commonly used in railways and strong understanding of electronics & software control systems is preferred
• Self-motivated, good writing and communication skills in interacting with contractors
• Willing to work at night time during the site survey and commissioning stage

Remarks

• Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
