Temporary Clerk (Venue)

Applications are invited for the position of Temporary Clerk (Venue) for performing shift duties in leisure venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
Salary: HK$ 17,130 per month
Entry Requirements:
[Note: For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.]
Candidates should have:
(1) completed secondary 5, or equivalent;
(2) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and
(3) good knowledge on the use of general computer software (including Microsoft Word and Excel) and Chinese and English typing skills.

Duties:
Mainly responsible for handling booking matters, processing payments, answering enquiries and performing general administrative, personnel and clerical duties.
[Note: Appointed candidates will be deployed to perform shift duties in leisure venues including public swimming pools, sports centres and sports grounds, etc. in any district of Hong Kong (including outlying islands).]
Working Hours:
Successful candidates will be required to work 44 hours (including meal breaks) per week. They are also required to work shifts (including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) during the period from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm according to supervisors’ arrangements and may be required to work overtime.

Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms normally for a period of 6 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service needs of the Department, and the performance and conduct of the candidate.

Fringe Benefits:
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave (14 days per annum), maternity leave/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

(1) Application forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (https://www.csb.gov.hk/english/recruit/application/331.html).
(2) The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
(3) Completed application forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] should be submitted in person or by post to the following enquiry address on or before the closing date of application. Please clearly specify on the envelope “Application for Temporary Clerk (Venue)”. Applications which are incomplete, late, submitted by fax or email, not duly signed by the applicants, or not made in the prescribed form will not be considered.
(4) If the applicants submit the applications by mail, to avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage.
