About you and this role

We are looking for an Analytical Manager to join team Dow in Terneuzen, The Netherlands!

In this role you are a leader and technical contributor on Dow's Process Analytical team. We are a global team, with team members at all major Dow production sites. We support Dow's production plants by engineering innovative online analytical solutions for Dow's competitive advantage. Our team is composed of people with strong engineering fundamentals, or deep technical knowledge of the technologies we use, as well as people with excellent project management skills.

As an Analytical Manager, you will have first line responsibility for the Process Analytical team in Europe. You will also have technical projects for which you are either the lead analytical person or a supporting contributor in the analytical space. The ability to collaborate across functions and geographies is a must.

Responsibilities

Selects and applies analytical technology and systems, in close cooperation with other technical resources, to improve process reliability or understand product quality in order to create value for global businesses.
At a functional level, provides the analytical technical link from the Process Analytical team to Dow's Capital project teams and maintenance teams.
Provides leadership and technical expertise for: Determination of product composition and properties; Problem prevention; and identifying, developing and implementing Most Effective Technology (MET).
Uses technical expertise and knowledge of businesses to prioritize projects and define technical solutions for complex problems and strategic projects requiring analytical support and expertise. Provides this guidance to the Process Analytical team in Europe.
Advocates for resources needed by the team to complete work.
Provides expertise for high level troubleshooting and repair of online analytical instrumentation. Coaches' others on online analytical systems and technology.
Actively participates on the Process Analytical Leadership Team and other Dow teams as needed.
Represents Dow in external technology networks and venues. Provide analytical “know how” to Joint Ventures, Licensees, and External Manufacturers, as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or related degree, plus laboratory, manufacturing or related experience required.
Fluency in the English language.
