• Apply Global Project Methodology (GPM) and Process Automation Work Process.
• Ensure PA discipline design deliverables meet the needs of the project: process automation is safe, meets DOW LPP’s and other EH&S requirements, reliable, functions as intended, following LHC PA Conventions and Standards with high productivity, on time and within budget.
• This role is also involved in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and designing or modifying the basic process control system (BPCS).
• Program control applications for various distributed control systems. Develop operator graphics. Write simulation applications in order to verify functionality of the control program and for training plant operators.
• Identify technical problems and proactively seek improvement opportunities that promote greater functionality, safety and reliability in partnership with stakeholders and engaging the business technology center and SME network.
• Develop and support process automation training for applicable personnel.
• Participate in project commissioning and startup activities, including tuning of control loops.
• Participate in Global Networks to identify and develop new technology for the business. Identify and deploy Most Effective Technology (MET) standard solution components to meet project requirements.
• Participate regularly on multi-functional teams to develop innovative automation solutions. Engage in projects in different geographies / locations.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% annually (both domestic and/or internationally.
• Fluency in the English language.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage many projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and effectively sell ideas to all job levels.

• Knowledgeable with one or more process control platforms (ABB, Siemens, MOD5, Emerson, Delta V, Foxboro, Honeywell).
• State Based Control experience.
• Dutch language skills.
