Dow has a great and challenging opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our LHC Reliability Team in Terneuzen, Netherlands. You will be responsible for our Hydrocarbons facilities.

The Reliability Engineer facilitates development of the facility and equipment reliability strategy and solves reliability and availability losses through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its business plan and strategy. You will focus on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically have impacted the plant’s measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments, reliability models and other evaluations.

Responsibilities

Creates, updates and improves Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Opportunity List, Critical Equipment List, and identified plant/business needs
Evaluates effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and PPM
Facilitates and/or contributes greatly to driving proactive PPM Optimization activities to support overall productivity improvements and minimize long term cost of ownership
Identifies and develop plans to resolve Top Reliability Opportunities and decrease equipment failure losses in order to meet the site Product Supply Reliability improvement goals for the given year
Assist in spare part optimization and critical spare part identification.
Performs Root Cause Investigations for unplanned events to prevent recurrence
Uses reliability engineering principles and tools to increase asset capability and asset mechanical reliability
Participates in Reliability Networks for experience exchange and collaboration
Provides front end loading support for plant Turnarounds
Assists maintenance representatives and project teams to design reliability, availability, and maintainability into new plants and equipment systems using GPM work process discipline
Support of plant strategies, capital and expense projects, and improvement goals aligned with the business goals

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
Fresh graduate or up to two years of working experience
Fluent in the English language, fluency in Dutch is a plus

Preferred skills

Knowledge about industry equipment
Experience with SAP, APM, and Root Cause Analysis
Very good communication skills and ability to steer and motivate a team
Positive outlook and demonstrated ability to drive change
Demonstrated facilitative leadership such as team leader for a project or initiative
Being proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel
Strong work ethic and being able to remain productive in an empowered team environment
