Would you like to be part of driving the development of new technologies that lead the market in Engineering which make mining operations more productive and profitable? Join us at Weir as a Laboratory Employee!
As a Laboratory Employee you will be working together with the Lab Engineer to conduct test work for analysis and the mapping out of material and process related data. You will conduct tests according to a pre-agreed test program and matching procedures. You're not afraid to get your hands dirty as you will be working with rough materials. Furthermore you will be reviewing and checking the test plan on available tools, material and timing. After conducting these tests, the test data will be collected and reported to lab engineers or process engineers and specialists.
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Reviews test plans
- Collects and prepares all required information like standards, templates, material safety sheets (MSDS)
- Prepares and adjusts tools and equipment for execution of test

Executes tests as per provided test plan
- Sample preparation
- Comminution test work (f.e. HPGR, airclassifier, screen)
- Slurry test loop test work
- Analysis of samples in lab
- Collecting of test data and reporting of test results
- Responsible for tools checking
- Prepares proposals for improving safety and efficiency

Education and Qualifications
Ofcourse you have a flexible working attitude and you always put safety first. In addition to that we ask for:
- MBO / Intermediate vocational education for example in mechanical engineering or as a mechanic;
- As we are a global company, it is preferred that you are fluent in English;
- Ability to work with MS office;
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of mining equipment and mineral processing is preferred;
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of mining test work in lab environment is preferred.
