Your Mission
We are now hiring a Financial controller for mainly our companies in the Netherlands, who will be located in Utrecht, but be a part of Mercell's Finance Shared Service Center's team in the Mercell countries. As our new Financial controller, you will have an important, exciting and impactful role where you will be participating in improving and streamlining our financial processes together with the team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Monthly closing, controlling and reporting procedures for a portfolio of legal entities, but specialized for the Netherlands. Participate in relevant projects related to improvements/development of finance processes.
  
• Booking of salaries and salary related costs, VAT, GL journals and other items and other tasks that occur in a finance department.
  
• Controlling and booking of salaries and salary related costs, VAT, GL journals and other items and other tasks that occur in a finance department.
  
• Controlling and reporting of VAT, tax and similar. Contact with auditors and prepare documentation for auditors.
  
• Internal control procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, analysis of P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow items with purpose to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial accounting. Participate in relevant projects related to improvements/development of finance processes.
  
• Prepare Annual statement and Corporate tax returns and coordinate with Head of Accounting and Controlling/external contractors and Auditors
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree within Finance, Accounting or Auditing. Relevant and extended experience can compensate for formal education
  
• Preferably 3-5 years relevant experience as Financial controller or similar position in complex environments.
  
• In- depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax and VAT, for the Netherlands. If you have knowledge from other European countries, it will be an advantage.
  
• Experience from internal and external financial reporting, and knowledge of good practices of internal controls over financial reporting
  
• Advanced user of IT systems (ERP, Excel, Financial reporting tools)
  
• Fluent in English and Dutch
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in one of the Scandinavian languages
  
• Experience of using Netsuite
  
• Knowledge of accounting principles and tax from the Scandinavian countries
