Are you a global industry expert in one of the major animal protein sectors like beef, pork, poultry, or seafood, and are you passionate about sharing your expertise with our clients? Then Rabobank is looking for you. Discover how you inspire a global team of animal protein research analysts to create unique forward-looking research insights that feed strategic discussions with our clients.
You and your job
As a Global Sector Strategist Animal Protein you share and promote your expertise by participating in commercial deal teams, client events, network events, and media events. You are the head of research for all 10+ animal protein analysts located around the world. You inspire the team with new research ideas, contribute to research, and sign off on research products. You use your existing network, conferences, working groups, company, and client visits to constantly deepen your knowledge base.

The team’s combined forces directly contribute to making a difference for Rabobank and our clients by tackling a broad range of complex strategic questions. For example:

Which key strategic drivers will affect the poultry industry’s success in the next five years?
What are the impacts of shifting policies with regard to sustainability?
What technology platform will be used when more traceability is required?
What are the risks and opportunities for Rabobank in South East Asia?
Participating in the GRSB
Deal team participation with major animal protein companies

Your tasks and responsibilities

Our goal is to inform and inspire. You position yourself and Rabobank as thought leader in animal protein with industry bodies, media, prospects, and clients at senior executive level.
Doing research is at our core. You will coordinate the delivery of research products with your team members, managing complex (sometimes cross-regional/cross-sectoral) research projects, taking ownership of the research process including methodologies and data used, and its delivery to clients. Cooperation and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate and act as a sparring partner for colleagues to generate ideas and initiate new bankable ideas, translating industry trends to offer new banking products and services. Furthermore, you provide valuable sector knowledge and views to the bank's Risk & Portfolio Management departments. You will closely coordinate with Corporate Finance, Trade & Commodity Finance, M&A, and Relationship Bankers, taking an active role in setting the commercial agenda of the bank in the animal protein sector and identifying new themes and business opportunities.

You and your talent
In-depth knowledge and passion for the industry are essential for the role of Global Sector Strategist Animal Protein. You think in terms of opportunities. A positive mindset and the ability to conduct multifaceted research projects are also critical to be successful in this role. Do you recognize yourself in our needs and the list of additional skills and expertise below?

You have an academic working and thinking level (Agriculture, Business, Economics, or Finance)
At least 10 years of work experience in an animal protein sector, either in industry, research, consultancy, or other relevant fields
You have a relevant global network
Demonstrable experience with (financial) risk analysis and quantitative analysis of sustainability issues
Next to being an excellent researcher, you have proven team management skills
Capable of translating complex research into simple clear takeaway messages in an engaging way
Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in English (verbally and in writing). Other language skills are an advantage
