Position

Indirect Private Real Estate (“Indirect RE”) is a division of CBRE Investment Management dedicated to investments with operating partners via primary funds, secondaries, co-investments and joint ventures. Indirect RE has AUM of $43.6bn. Clients invest via separate accounts and pooled funds including a flagship global core plus open end fund as well as a series of closed end global opportunistic funds.

Indirect Private Real Estate is led by Achal Gandhi, CIO, and has 110 staff operating globally across 9 offices - London (HQ), Amsterdam, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, Singapore and Tokyo.

Indirect Private Real Estate is a fully integrated business line within CBRE Investment Management. In addition to the investment and portfolio management team there is access to shared resources such as investor services, financial and middle office operations, analytics, legal counsel, risk management and IT systems development functions.

As we continue to grow our global business, Indirect Private Real Estate is hiring for an intern within our Amsterdam based EMEA Investment Team.

This is six months paid internship programme running from January - June 2025.

The role is broad and offers the successful candidate an opportunity to be involved in various activities for multiple investments across property sectors.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Participate in investment monitoring, including attending manager meetings and property tours
Develop an understanding of individual investments and awareness of relevant items that can impact portfolios;
Prepare forecast returns for investment held in our portfolio. Take active role in monitoring compliance with the strategy, financial performance and ESG performance and recommend actions where needed. Prepare fund research notes;
Active participation in sourcing and reviewing of new investment proposals; prepare materials necessary to support the approval of new investments;
Engage with portfolio management teams, financial and middle office operations team and analytics;
Ad hoc projects in the regional investment team.

Key Skills/Experience

Bachelor degree in real estate or related degrees as economics, investment or finance. Final year of education or 1 year work experience;
Passionate about real estate investing;
Good understanding of financial modelling;
Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring deadlines are met;
Accurate under time pressure and exceptional attention to detail;
Enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team with good interpersonal skills;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing in English; and
Flexible approach to work and willingness/ability to travel.
