This role is a maternity cover for around 6 months - a great stepping stone for other functions within Fastned afterward. The assignment is inhouse employment (not freelance), with a start date no later than 1st January 2025, and an end date as early as 31st May 2025.

Role

Our Network Development team is the driving force behind the European expansion of Fastned, through the acquisition of locations on which we can build our large fast-charging stations. Growing the network of locations is crucial to provide freedom to electric drivers, thereby fulfilling our mission of accelerating the transition towards sustainable mobility.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our leadership team as a Director on a maternity cover basis. This role is pivotal in maintaining the direction and continuity of our expansion efforts and continuing our efforts to scale them up during the maternity leave period of our current Network Development Director. The role will report directly to the CEO.


First and foremost, you will lead and manage day-to-day business operations ensuring our expansion efforts remain high-paced and are in line with our strategy. You will also join the international Network Development leadership team, a mix of experienced and new team leads driving their local expansion strategies and resolving bottlenecks. Furthermore, you will ensure insights and activities are monitored and reported and enable effective communication between all stakeholders within Fastned. You keep a pulse on the business and help connect the dots between key projects in the various countries and the other business units of Fastned.


Additionally, you will take on a leadership role by covering for the Dutch Expansion Lead during their maternity leave. In this capacity, you will provide daily leadership for the Dutch Expansion team, ensuring that they stay on track to meet their quarterly goals. Your leadership will be essential in maintaining momentum and driving the team’s success during this period.

Who we are looking for

You are available to work the full maternity cover timeframe of 6 months. In order to be effective in this high impact role you are a skilled business manager with outstanding people skills. You are capable of quickly integrating into our organisation and building strong working relationships across the organisation. This diverse and fast-paced job requires excellent communication, strong analytical skills, a tolerance for ambiguity, a highly structured mind and a can-do attitude, in which tasks both big and small are taken on with enthusiasm.

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in strategy, business development or a related role
• Experience in leading and building teams
• A strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Appetite for diving in complex project finance models and coaching others to do so
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• General management profile that has judgement and can guide the team to follow processes and ask for approval where necessary and provides thrust elsewhere, while following up on actions to maintain pace
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
• Open for regular travel within Europe
• Plus points for previous experience in hyper growth companies or renewable energy
• You are highly motivated by accelerating the energy transition.
