PCA Trainer (Home Care)

Responsibilities:

Training Development & Delivery:
- Design and develop training programs and materials for PCAs, with an emphasis on dementia care and other essential skills.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions, ensuring trainees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices in personal care and incorporate them into training programs.

Certification Process:
- Evaluate trainees’ performance to ensure they meet all requirements for PCA certification.
- Provide support and guidance to trainees throughout the certification process.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and company standards for PCA training and certification.

PA to PCA Conversion:
- Identify and engage Personal Assistants (PAs) interested in becoming certified PCAs.
- Maintain a detailed list of interested individuals and track their progress towards certification.
- Assist PAs in understanding the benefits of certification and guide them through the conversion process.

Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, performance assessments, and certification status.
- Generate reports on training outcomes, participant progress, and conversion rates from PA to PCA.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improving training programs and processes.
- Certified PCA Trainer or similar qualification in healthcare training.
- Previous experience in a home care environment, particularly in dementia care, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop training materials and conduct engaging training sessions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in tracking and maintaining trainee progress records.
