Product Manager - Authentication / One Gate

ING is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Product Manager who gets their energy from developing and evangelizing a global authentication framework, while communicating with business and IT. You will align epics between all parties in the process chain, and break down the work in prioritized stories, refine new functionalities and provide delivery plans.

Job description

The team will be working with is based in Amsterdam and is one of the 8 squads that are contributing to One Gate product area, distributed between Amsterdam and Bucharest.

You will be responsible for delivering and innovating the authentication solution and features of ING's Touchpoint platform. These services will be used in both native (android and i OS) and web applications of ING, serving millions of ING customers, by ensuring that a customer who logs into an application is the person he/she claims to be.

As (technical) product manager for Authentication product you will be responsible for setting priorities, structuring the backlog and roadmap based on QBR planning, sprint by sprint priorities within the team and any dependencies, for requirements clarifications, as well as their delivery plans.

It is key that the development and execution of the roadmap is aligned with several stakeholders (such as the business, IT, other global service providers, architects, security experts, designers and up and downstream squads in the value chain) you need to manage for new onboardings and integrations, new feature requirements, demos, quarterly planning etc.

You must balance the priority of new features with the necessary work to allow for the flawless operation of a compliant service in accordance to all LCM work that has to be properly planned to ensure high technical standards and running activities at product level.

Moreover, with your experience, you can develop and drive through, a practical platform vision and roadmap that is future proof, aligned with the One Gate product area vision, as well as promoting and evangelizing the product. This will be leveraged by a strong collaboration with One Gate Product Area Lead.

Your profile

You are an experienced product manager or have had other adjacent business analyst positions in a technology environment/software solution. You have a relevant higher education degree.

In addition, you are familiar with the tasks associated with the PO role in an agile environment. You are an excellent communicator and proactively find and approach relevant stakeholders. You like to take initiative, and work in close collaboration with other teams within the organization.

Skills required

We are looking for a Product Manager with relevant skills necessary to:

• Understand the aspects of a global product (build once, use it multiple times) so you can facilitate the consumer usage and integration, but also business requirements to cover the new business scenarios
• Drive the development squads by providing the purpose, context, priorities, and direction
• Creation and prioritization of backlogs (divided into predictable epics and features)
• Partner with the Product Area Lead and PO peers from the area and beyond to create and maintain a product backlog that aligns with the overall product area roadmap to maximize the business value
• Develop requirements (written and diagrams (when appropriate)) throughout the product development in the form of Epics, Features and Stories. Facilitate refinement sessions to clarify and estimate user stories
• Facilitate the team's delivery by coordinating sprint activities like planning sessions, review, refinements, and demo
• Play an active role in identifying, mitigating, and communicating impediments impacting successful completion of Release/Sprint Goals
• Facilitate the planning of product releases, including coordination with other interdependent teams and communication with stakeholders to set the expectation for delivery of new features
• Alignment with key stakeholders and manage the dependencies in the process chain
• Enable consumers to have a great onboarding experience, get the value from our product, and minimize roadblocks. Guide them through features and functionalities from the start until the journey is successfully completed
• Contribute on improving the adoption of services and help in measuring consumer experience through metrics.
