Are you passionate about testing and quality assurance in a dynamic payments environment? Join our squad and play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our payment engine. As a senior test automation engineer, you'll ensure that our applications meet the highest standards in functionality, performance, resilience, and security. You’ll focus on automating tests and supporting our team with continuous improvements in CI/CD, while contributing to both maintenance and operations.
**This vacancy is open due to maternity leave and is a temporary position until April 11, 2025. The start date is as soon as possible.

Your role:

Be part of a multidisciplinary squad responsible for the payment engine's maintenance and operations.
Specialize in testing, with a focus on automating functional, performance, resilience, and security tests using tools like Cucumber and Karate.
Collaborate with your squad, product owners, and other teams to refine and plan features that integrate seamlessly into our overall system.
Take part in setting up and managing continuous delivery pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and operation.
Actively contribute to capacity and performance management to keep our application running at top performance.
Work with your team to ensure the highest levels of data confidentiality, integrity, and system availability.

About the team: You'll also be part of a larger test engineering chapter that spans across multiple squads. This chapter is focused on driving quality and continuous improvement, not only for our products but also for our processes. You'll have the opportunity to improve test frameworks, explore new tools, and enhance our CI/CD setup.

What you’ll bring:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in testing backend systems, with at least 3 years focused on automated testing using Cucumber (Java implementation).
Hands-on experience with different testing types: functional, performance, resilience, and security.
Proven ability to set up and manage CI/CD pipelines.
A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in agile and/or Dev Ops environments.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

It’s a plus if you have:

Experience working in the banking industry, with knowledge of payment standards like ISO20022, Swift, and SEPA.
Familiarity with tools like Git Lab, TFS, Azure Dev Ops, Gatling, Kibana, and Prometheus.
Hands-on experience with technologies such as Cassandra (CQL), Java (Akka, Spring), JMS (EMS/MQ), Kafka, Tibco Business Works, Unix.

What we offer:

Contract until 12 April 2025.
36-hour work week.
Competitive salary range: €4.240,00 - €5.750,00 gross per month.
Holiday payments and a 13th month.
Full pension in accordance with the Dutch temporary labour CLA.
Hybrid working environment (in-office and remote flexibility).
