Te Tari Pūreke has been stood up as the firearms regulator in Aotearoa New Zealand and is the new place for people interested in the safe use and possession of firearms. To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions: effectively implementing the firearms licensing system; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe use of legitimate firearms. Mō te tūnga | About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor (3+ years at a Senior level) to join our People and Culture Team based in Wellington.

Supporting the HR Business Partner in leading the HR Advisory service for the workgroup at an operational level, you will ensure that excellence in HR Advisory services & operations are maintained and to grow the pro-active capability of Te Tari P ūrekes’ HR Advisory workstream.

Through driving your own caseload and working in collaboration with other people functions, you will provide a variety of technical HR and ER advice and options to support the business in Change Management, Performance Management, and all other employment matters.

Working with the Police Collective Employment Agreements and Police Policies is also a key part of the role. Understanding application of these policies, risk assessment and intent to ensure a best outcome approach is critical.

Takohanga Matua | Key Accountabilities:
Can easily build relationships to proactively work with Te Tari Pūreke business groups to enable a holistic approach in resolving employment matters.

Able to respond in a timely manner to differing business needs and can be pragmatic with advice and support.

Uses HR expertise to provide current and relevant advice that assesses and mitigates risk.

Analyses information to form advice for managers, offering solutions and options that are fit for the situation.

Can handle and respond to employment issues, leveraging off key resources to shape and build advice.

Work on various people projects to support the delivery of our people frameworks.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Applicants need to have valid New Zealand work rights.

3+ years working in a Senior HR Advisory role.

A tertiary qualification in HR, Psychology or a related field is preferred.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425.00 - $117,014.00 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
