About the opportunity | Te whai waahi

We are looking for a Senior Process Technologist – to join our Te Awamutu site where you will be responsible for maximising productivity, improving quality and provision of technical services to Fonterra.

You will be joining a highly motivated and engaged team who work together to provide solutions to the business. Reporting to the Process Technical Team Lead, you will act as a technical adviser to optimise plant performance and trouble-shoot production issues that occur during plant operation.

This is a great opportunity to put your technical expertise to best use and continue your personal development. Key responsibilities:

Provide technical support to manufacturing sites and internal and external customer requirements
Ensure products and processes are within manufacturing capability, process, business and regulatory requirements
Provide problem solving and technical support for process exceptions to help return plant to stable operation and capability
Drive development of new and / or improved processes in dairy manufacturing and commercialisation of technologies.

We are looking for a driven individual with a strong technical mindset and passion for process improvement. A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when dealing with a variety of stakeholders is essential to succeed in this varied role.

This is a fantastic full-time role within the Process Technical Team.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

To be motivated, able to work independently and have a good eye for detail.
A real drive for results.
The ability to contribute to broader productivity and quality goals with a flair for change management.
A team player mentality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will enable you to liaise closely with a variety of key stakeholders.
To be highly numerate and analytical with the ability to identify opportunities to optimise capability through continuous improvement initiatives.
A tertiary qualification within engineering, science or technology is highly desirable.
Experience in process improvement, ideally from a dairy or food manufacturing background.
