About the position
About the position
A 1-year 20% research position is available in the Laboratory of Adaptive Immunity and Homeostasis, headed Jan Terje Andersen, Department of Immunology at Oslo University Hospital (OUH), Rikshospitalet.

The successful candidate will join a highly integrated and motivated team with diverse skills and expertise across molecular biology and immunology. We seek a motivated, creative and energetic candidate that will take active part in the research cooperation focusing on protein design and infections diseases. The position relates to a Novo Nordisk Foundation funded grant aiming at translating cutting-edge research into biomedical concepts focusing on tailored protein design. Research will done by combining structural biology with biochemical and cellular assays as well as studies in state-of-the-art transgenic mice.

About the laboratory
The Laboratory of Adaptive Immunity and Homeostasis uses multi-disciplinary approaches to address fundamental questions in health. One particular focus is studies of the cellular processes and molecular interplay underlying the functions of the two most abundant proteins in blood, albumin and antibodies. Such knowledge offers opportunities for development of novel concepts for tailored design of protein-based therapeutics with favorable transport properties combined with the ability to efficiently bind and eradicate the target.

The laboratory is part of Ui O FOCIS Centre of Excellence, which aims to develop and support research activities on clinical immunology in Oslo, and recently became a member of the Centre of Excellence PRIMA, The Precision Immunotherapy Alliance, funded by the Research Council of Norway. The laboratory has an eye on translational research, is highly innovative and is collaborating extensively with a growing life science ecosystem in Norway, national and international academic laboratories, non-profit organizations as well as biotech and pharmaceutical companies. The head of the laboratory has obtained the Fridtjof Nansen Prize for Early Career Achievements.
