Cloud Mesh Solutions is a fast-growing Swiss-based company specializing in cloud-based solutions.
We are seeking an experienced Word Press Security Specialist to join our team and ensure the security of our Word Press-based websites. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Word Press architecture, security practices, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our websites, ensuring they are protected from cyber threats, data breaches, and other malicious activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Comprehensive Security Audits & Risk Assessment:

• Conduct detailed security audits of Word Press installations, including themes, plugins, and custom code.

• Identify vulnerabilities and security gaps within Word Press environments and recommend immediate corrective actions.

• Implement security best practices and compliance measures tailored to Word Press websites.

2. Security Hardening & Best Practices:

• Strengthen Word Press core, server settings, and hosting environments to prevent unauthorized access.

• Implement strict access controls (e.g., user roles, permissions, 2FA) to secure sensitive data.

• Secure and configure firewalls, SSL certificates, and malware scanning tools.

3. Monitoring & Incident Response:

• Continuously monitor websites for security threats using tools such as Wordfence, Sucuri, and other security plugins.

• Set up and manage intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to detect unusual activity.

• Respond rapidly to security incidents, such as malware infections, DDo S attacks, and data breaches, and implement recovery procedures.

4. Malware Detection, Removal, & Recovery:

• Identify, isolate, and remove malware and malicious code from infected Word Press installations.

• Ensure proper backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.

• Conduct forensic analysis post-incident to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.

5. Security Patching & Updates:

• Ensure Word Press core, plugins, and themes are regularly updated with the latest security patches.

• Automate and schedule updates to reduce vulnerabilities caused by outdated software.

• Collaborate with development teams to test and deploy updates without causing disruptions.

6. Performance Tuning & Optimization:

• Optimize website performance while maintaining security, ensuring the proper balance between speed and protection.

• Implement caching, CDN solutions, and secure configurations for performance and security.

7. Security Policy Development & Training:

• Develop and enforce security policies and protocols for internal teams.

• Provide guidance and training on secure coding practices for developers and content managers.

• Conduct security workshops to raise awareness about cyber threats and prevention strategies.

8. Compliance & Regulatory Requirements:

• Ensure Word Press websites comply with relevant security standards and regulations such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, etc.

• Assist in data protection efforts and advise on security practices to maintain legal and industry compliance.

9. Penetration Testing & Ethical Hacking:

• Perform regular penetration testing on Word Press installations to uncover security weaknesses.

• Simulate cyberattacks and stress-test the security infrastructure to identify potential entry points for attackers.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Technical Expertise:

• Strong experience with Word Press core, themes, plugins, and the broader Word Press ecosystem.

• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerabilities (XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF, etc.), and malware threats specific to Word Press.

• Proficiency with security plugins (e.g., Wordfence, Sucuri) and tools for malware scanning and remediation.

• Familiarity with server security, hosting environments (Apache, Nginx), and databases (My SQL).

• Programming & Scripting:

• Strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, Java Script, and how they interact within Word Press.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices and ability to identify and resolve code-based vulnerabilities.

• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline security processes.

• Problem-Solving Skills:

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to respond to security threats rapidly.

• Ability to think critically, assess risk, and implement effective security controls.

• Communication & Collaboration:

• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex security issues to non-technical teams.

• Collaborate effectively with developers, IT, and content teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the web development lifecycle.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Word Press security or a related cybersecurity role.

• Proven track record of securing Word Press-based websites and responding to real-world cyber threats.

• Experience working with both small-scale Word Press sites and enterprise-level installations.

• Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and incident response procedures.

Certifications:

• Relevant security certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Comp TIA Security+, or GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) are preferred but not mandatory.
