Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Manager to lead and enhance our human resources operations. The HR Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping employee relations, policies, and processes that align with our core values of critical thinking, integrity, and innovation. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development, ensuring that our organizational structure and HR practices support our business goals. This role requires a strategic thinker committed to fostering a positive workplace culture while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations:
- Develop and implement employee relations strategies that align with the organization’s values.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by addressing employee grievances and providing guidance.
- Policy & Program Management:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate HR policies, programs, and procedures to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and values.
- Regularly update job requirements and descriptions to reflect the organization's objectives.
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Manage the recruitment process, including screening and guiding managers on candidate selection to place the right people in the right roles.
- Oversee onboarding programs that promote teamwork and employee engagement.
- Employee Training & Development:
- Design and conduct orientation and training programs that encourage innovation and personal growth.
- Develop resources to support employee development, career advancement, and skill enhancement.
- Performance Management:
- Work with managers to plan, monitor, and appraise employee performance.
- Coach and mentor employees to meet performance standards and encourage continuous improvement.
- Employee Benefits:
- Administer employee benefits programs, assess benefit needs, and recommend options to management.
- Assist employees with claims and ensure they are informed of their benefit options.
- Compliance & Record Keeping:
- Ensure compliance with government and regulatory requirements, representing the organization in hearings if necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, supporting transparency and accountability.
- HR Policy Development:
- Prepare, update, and recommend HR policies that reflect the organization's core values and ensure they are communicated and followed throughout the company.
- HR Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage HR staff, overseeing their performance to achieve departmental goals.
- Counsel and discipline employees when necessary, aligning with the organization’s standards and values.
- Reporting & Strategic Alignment:
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on HR activities, challenges, and opportunities.
- Align HR efforts with the organization’s strategic goals and contribute to the overall team effort.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources Management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience in performance management, events management, coaching, and HR systems.
- Proven ability to lead HR teams and effectively manage HR operations.
- Experience using data to develop innovative and impactful HR initiatives.
- Familiarity with database management systems, particularly Airtable.
- Ability to adapt to new tools and processes is a plus.
- An interest in traditional and digital arts, multimedia, IT, and game development is advantageous.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
