Quality/Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that materials and products meet the standards set by the company and the regulatory authorities prior to usage and release
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Guarantees the availability of laboratory resources needed for physico-chem and microbiological testing of materials and products.
2) Verifies the accuracy of results released by the laboratory.
3) Ensures updating and applicability of laboratory documents such as specifications, procedures, work instructions, MSDS, COA, Manufacturing Order, MPSI, monitoring forms, etc.
4) Warrant exact & truthful creation and timely delivery of Certificate of Analysis (COA) to consumer and other parties as necessary.
5) Ensures materials comply to standards required by each blended product prior to the creation of the manufacturing order.
6) Ascertain monitoring and ensure that all laboratory equipment is calibrated at all times.
7) Determines and performs internal good laboratory practice audits and raise non-conformity as needed.
8) Guarantees all laboratory analysts are proficient in every analysis conducted in the laboratory.
9) Guarantees and conducts good laboratory practice training for newly hired laboratory staff, including sampler and cleaner, and a refresher course every year for the current laboratory members.
10) Supports and provides the sample to ensure that all defined products have updated heavy metals, pesticide residue, pathogens, and other defined analysis results by a third-party laboratory.
11) Oversees the timeliness and reliability of laboratory analysts’ outputs and reports.
12) Ensures the closure of nonconformities of the laboratory based on defined target dates.
13) Complies to documentation needed for all purchase requests such as GRPO, Certificate of Acceptance, Receiving Reports, Request for Payment, etc.
14) Monitors the budget of FSQR Department and reports any discrepancies to the immediate Head.
15) Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
a. Education
· Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. A license in Chemistry degree is required.
b. Work Experience
1) At least 3 years of working experience under quality control/assurance in a food manufacturing industry. Supervisory experience is an advantage but not required.
2) Experience in food powder ingredient industry is an advantage.
3) With an extensive background in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO 17025, Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) and Quality Management System (QMS).
4) Statistical process control experience.
5) Experience with SAP is an advantage.
6) Lean manufacturing understanding.
Special Qualities/Skills Required
1) Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications.
2) Proficient in written and oral communication.
3) Knowledge of laboratory scaling.
4) Auditing skills.
5) Familiarity with laboratory equipment validation, verification and calibration.
6) Well-informed on Analytical Quality Control (AQC) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) principles and test technology.
7) Understanding on the rejection of nonconforming raw materials.
8) Safety Data Sheet and Product Data Sheet contents knowledge and understanding.
9) Basic regulatory background particularly Global Standard for Food Additives.
