How you’ll make an impact:
We are seeking a talented, driven Associate Director, Software Engineering to join our growing team. In this role you will be managing a team of individual contributors pertaining to a very high-performing engineering team, responsible for designing, collaborating and executing a roadmap involving the Audio Streaming realm. .
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will manage a team located in the Engineering Hub in Bucharest, Romania
What you’ll do:
-
Lead and mentor a growing team (10+) of Software Engineers, specialized in backend, frontend and automation testing development
-
Collaborate with the Product team to clarify the scope and timelines of the projects and also to develop a strategic vision and roadmap for the Audio Streaming Server
-
Collaborate with the GOPS teams to ensure flawless deployments in production and provide support to the L1/L2/L3 teams
-
Drive operational excellence by prioritizing the team’s work, executing projects, communicating and tracking progress, identifying risks
-
Build high-performance, stable, scalable systems to be deployed in an enterprise setting
-
Lead high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions
-
Provide mentoring and coaching for other engineers
-
Foster a culture of innovation and collaborations
What you’ll need to do the job:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
-
10+ years of work experience in engineering roles
-
5+ years of experience in leading software engineering teams in a technical organization, including mentoring and coaching staff, setting quarterly objectives, and writing performance reviews
-
Proven ability to recruit and retain world-class engineers.
-
Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.
-
Proficiency in software languages (C++ or Go preferred), software methodologies, popular frameworks, and best practices
-
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

Excellent understanding of Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the English language
-
Experience with streaming servers (Shoutcast, icecast, Wowza,...)
-
Knowledge of protocols as HTTP, RTMP, RTSP, HLS
-
Experience with Amazon AWS services (S3, SQS, Cloud Front, Lambda, API Gateway, Athena…)
-
Experience with other programming languages like Go and Python
