Position Summary
Corum Security is seeking a diligent and dedicated CCTV Control Room Operator responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients and assets through real-time surveillance, incident response, and accurate activity documentation. This role requires efficient operation of CCTV systems, quick response to security breaches, and effective collaboration with ground security teams.
Key Responsibilities CCTV Monitoring and Surveillance

• Continuous Monitoring: Maintain vigilant, real-time surveillance to detect suspicious activity and security breaches.
• Advanced Surveillance Techniques: Apply advanced monitoring strategies to cover high-risk zones.
• Proactive Surveillance: Identify and anticipate security risks to prevent escalation.
• Footage Review: Assist in footage reviews for investigative support.

Incident Management and Response

• Alarm Response: Swiftly respond to alarms and emergencies, following established protocols.
• Incident Coordination: Collaborate closely with ground teams and law enforcement during incidents.
• Incident Documentation: Accurately record and report incidents to the Control Room Supervisor.

System Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• System Checks: Regularly check equipment functionality, reporting any malfunctions immediately.
• Technical Support Coordination: Work with maintenance teams to schedule necessary repairs or upgrades.

Data Management and Compliance

• Log Management: Keep comprehensive logs of all surveillance activities.
• Data Security: Ensure recordings and data are stored securely, in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Communication and Collaboration

• Team Communication: Maintain open communication with other operators and security personnel.
• Reporting: Provide timely, accurate updates to management and team members.

Training and Development

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and remain updated on surveillance best practices.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Experience: 1-3 years in a similar role or background in security, law enforcement, or military.
• Certifications: Valid PSi RA C-grade certification.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in operating CCTV systems; basic IT skills for data management.
• Observational Skills: Strong eye for detail, analytical thinking, perseverance, and patience.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken), with excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Stress Management: Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
• Work Conditions: Ability to work shift-based hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in a dimly lit, secure, controlled environment.
