We are now looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Team Lead - Tax Delivery to join our global team.


Position Overview:


This Cape Town-based management role is important in ensuring that our client solutions continue to remain efficient, compliant with relevant Operational Tax regulations, and adapt with regulatory change. Through effective management of our people, processes, technology and change management, you will support the Head of Tax Operations function through a significant phase of growth.


Reporting into the Head of Tax Operations, you will be the key point of contact for the South Africa Tax Delivery team, and deliver a rapidly expanding portfolio of Tax Services, including Automatic Exchange of Information reporting and withholding tax obligations. You will support the Head of Tax Operations in identifying opportunities for change, and supporting delivery of those changes; connecting confidently with clients to understand their specific needs as part of your delivery.


You will help our Private Markets clients comfortably navigate complex tax obligations by using your:

• Excellent knowledge in FATCA/CRS and a good knowledge of US withholding tax processes;
• Experience of meeting regulatory deadlines;
• Good organisational and delivery management skills;
• Excellent client communication skills
• Commitment to excellence; and
• Experience of supporting change delivery

Responsibilities:

• Supporting delivery of the timely, accurate and complete Tax reporting to tax authorities across all relevant fund jurisdictions.
• Supporting functional delivery of AEOI classification and due diligence processes for fund entities / investors.
• Supporting management and delivery of relevant tax documentation processes as required for both AEOI and US Withholding tax purposes
• First escalation point for the Tax Services Delivery team, located in Cape Town, providing tax analyst support and working effectively with the Tax Services Technical support team in Mauritius.
• Provide input into and support delivery of any changes required to the Tax Delivery control framework, including working with the Tax Services Technical Support team in relation to operating procedures, technology and guides.
• Maintain and actively develop good client and internal stakeholder relationships, being the day-to-day Tax Delivery contact for our clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support the Head of Tax Operations, technical and product teams in development and delivery of new and enhanced Tax Services, to the extent it impacts service delivery.
• Support the Head of Tax Operations in reporting of key Tax Services KPIs
• Provide FACA/CRS, US withholding and Tax documentation process advice and support to the Tax Delivery team as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A good working operational and technical knowledge of FATCA/CRS and US withholding tax
• Experience of maintaining tax processes and technology solutions.
• Excellent communication skills,
• An aptitude for influencing and encouraging co-workers, and problem-solving skills
• Able to support and deliver multiple tasks / projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• Experience of leading an operational teams’ delivery against strict deadlines is beneficial but not essential
