The Role
We are recruiting an IT Administrator to join the Corporate IT team who will be responsible for providing IT support in the South Africa office primarily and to the whole business in general. As a core member of the Corporate IT team, the IT Administrator will report to the Head, Corporate IT and work closely with the office admins, the IT and Technology teams to ensure IT Support objectives are met and issues are resolved within SLAs.

We are seeking candidates with at least 3 years of experience in managing and optimizing desktop environments, Microsoft 365 Workspace, and network support. The successful candidate must be passionate about enhancing IT support protocols and procedures, possess exceptional communication skills, high EQ, strong organization skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Success in this role will require someone proactive, self-motivated, well-organized, and strong in building and maintaining relationships. They should also have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise architectures, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

The role will be in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Desktop, Microsoft 365 Workspace, and Network Support: The main emphasis of this role is to manage and optimize these areas.
  • IT Helpdesk Support: The candidate will aid in addressing IT Helpdesk queries brought up by users throughout the organization.
  • Primary IT Liaison: In addition to being the primary IT liaison for the SA office, the candidate will play a significant role in IT support initiatives for the entire group.
  • IT Support Enhancement: The candidate will help continuously enhance IT support protocols and procedures. This includes the improvement/maintenance/creation of documentation, refining IT Helpdesk operations, and instituting effective IT Asset acquisition and management processes.


Projects and Problems we are wanting to address with this position:
  • Project: Share Point Structure Enhancement - The candidate will aid in finalizing Share Point structure project and support the implementation of the company intranet on Share Point.
  • Project: IT Asset Register - The candidate will establish an IT Asset register. This will require involvement in the deployment and migration of an IT asset management platform and the transition of IT asset data to the new platform.
  • Project: Single Sign-On Enrollment - The candidate will enroll company-wide applications in Single Sign-On.
  • Problem: Tackle network and internet connectivity issues in the office.
  • Project: IT Asset Recovery or Computer Recycling - This will involve the identification, refurbishment, and re-purposing of old or obsolete laptops and other IT equipment and will include, Inventory Audit, Testing and Evaluation, Data Wiping, Refurbishment and Re-deployment or Disposal.


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • S. degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience in IT Support or IT Operations field.
  • Excellent customer service attitude with great communications skills (both verbal and written).
  • Disciplined project/task management, organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to thrive while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think quickly and logically to resolve issues.
  • Diverse knowledge across various IT disciplines to learn and resolve situations as needed will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Power Shell scripting and use with Share Point, Azure, Exchange and MS Online modules.


Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Sophos AV and Firewall or related solutions.
  • Server and Desktop (Mac & Windows) Troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Basic computer hardware troubleshooting and fixing.
  • IT assets register setup and maintenance.
  • Basic Network Router and Wi-Fi support and troubleshooting.
  • Support ISO audit related to Physical controls.
  • Knowledge of IT Help Desk applications and processes.
  • Desktop Support in Active Directory Environment, preferably with a mix of Windows and mac OS client hosts.
  • Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 productivity suite administration.
  • Using and maintaining procedural documentation.
  • Desktop support troubleshooting methods and tools.
  • Ethernet fundamentals, TCP/IP fundamentals, Remote Access VPN, and IP protocol suites used in typical enterprise LAN environments.
  • IT Best Practice, ITSM, IT operational control, and Information Security awareness.
  • Knowledge of Power Shell and use with Share Point, Azure, Exchange and MS Online modules.
