Operations Support Manager

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS
LOCATION: CAPE TOWN
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide strategic, tactical, and operational guidance
to the Operations department, enhancing profitability through specialist support strategies aligned with the overall organisational framework to maximise operational effectiveness, efficiency, and long-term performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provide input and contribute to the departmental strategy
● Communication & execution of subsequent action plans (i.e. spec, timelines and budget)
● Ensure compliance with the store revamp program and monitor replacement budgets
● Liaise with Country Operations teams, Planning, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Buying
departments for promotions, sales activity calendar and advertising spend
● Ensure timely distribution of store communication bulletins, switch documents, block
documents and quarterly OPS newsletters
● Continuously evaluate and refine sales support processes to enhance efficiency
● Document processes, develop and maintain SOPs
● Leverage technology tools and systems to streamline processes and optimise sales
● Manage the sales support budget and resource allocation effectively to support sales
objectives and maintain cost control
● Develop and implement communication strategies to ensure clear and consistent messaging
within store and field operations teams
● Lead and coordinate project teams to ensure timely and successful completion of projects
within scope and budget
● Lead and manage a small team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
● Relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma in Business Management/Retail/Marketing)
● 5 years’ relevant experience in the retail sector
● Strong business and retail understanding
● Proven track record in retail operations
● Showing clear ability to set and deliver on business targets, time lines and strategic plans
● Project Management experience will be advantageous
● Computer literacy: Advanced (GSuite)
● Frequent travelling to and within African countries
● South African Citizen
