Private Equity - Investor Relations and Marketing Intern

Commitment: 2-3 days per week, 6 months, paid internship
Compensation: Basic wage 4,500 rands per month plus bonuses; transport and lunch expenses covered.
About the Role:
City Estate Partners, a UK-based private equity firm with back-office operations in South Africa, offers an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to gain hands-on experience in investor relations and marketing within the private equity sector. This role is ideal for someone interested in exploring the intersection of finance, investment management, and strategic communications, with a focus on engaging investors and partners via online and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities:Investor Relations and Engagement:
- Identify and engage with potential investors and business partners via Linked In and other professional networking platforms.
- Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective investors through email campaigns, Linked In messages, and other digital channels.
- Assist in preparing investor updates, reports, and presentations to showcase the firm’s investment activities and achievements.
- Support the development and management of investor databases, keeping contact details and interaction history up to date.
- Generate engaging content for investor newsletters, social media posts, and the company website.
- Create compelling case studies, success stories, and investor-centric materials to highlight the firm’s achievements and milestones.
- Ensure all content aligns with the firm’s branding and messaging guidelines to maintain a consistent narrative.
- Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies that support the firm’s private equity activities and investor engagement efforts.
- Conduct market research to identify potential client segments, industry trends, and new opportunities for growth.
- Support the preparation of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and digital content.
- Collaborate with the private equity team to identify potential investors and strategic partners.
- Manage inbound inquiries and actively follow up on investor engagement efforts to build strong relationships.
- Update and maintain the CRM system with relevant information and contacts.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating events such as webinars, workshops, and investor meetings.
- Handle event logistics, including venue booking, attendee communication, and follow-up activities.
- Participate in event planning and execution to gain experience in managing investor relations events.
- Work alongside the Private Equity Support Intern to align marketing efforts with deal sourcing and investor engagement activities.
- Participate in internal meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s investment strategies and objectives.
- Regular Schedule: 2-3 days per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accommodate your studies or other commitments.
- Overtime and Weekend Shifts: Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for event support or urgent investor communications, compensated at a higher rate.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling investor-focused content.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power Point. Experience with design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe) is a plus.
- Experience or familiarity with Linked In and other digital networking platforms for professional engagement.
- Self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Enthusiastic about gaining experience in private equity marketing and investor relations.
