About the role
Australian Red Cross delivers the Support for Trafficked People Program which provides assistance to people who have experienced human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices, including forced marriage and forced labour. People referred to the Support Program may have experienced trauma, physical and psychological abuse and often have complex and individualised needs. This role will focus on providing individualised case management support to meet the health and welfare needs of people referred to the Support Program.
Day to day, you will:
- Provide quality casework support which identifies key client strengths, needs, resources available to meet those needs and the methods to assist the client to recover from their trafficking experience
- Conduct safety planning and risk assessments
- Work with and alongside volunteers and / or students who will support the program
What you will bring
- Experience working with victim-survivors of modern slavery, family and domestic violence and/or people on temporary visas
- Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning
- Sound casework/ case management experience including holistic assessment of client needs and development of case plans.
- Experience in working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds with respect and humility.
- A sound understanding of the social political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition (including people seeking asylum, trafficked people and people who have been forced into marriage).
- Skills and experience in a variety of client practice approaches and frameworks
- Demonstrated effectiveness in interagency collaboration and ability to negotiate, lead collaboration, advocate and network with internal and external stakeholders (who can include statutory and law enforcement agencies)
A Working with Children Check is a mandatory requirement for this role.

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $85,145.84 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
