Assistant Technical Officer (Aerodynamics & Acoustics Facility)

Job Posting Details

The Aerodynamics and Acoustics Facility at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking a dynamic individual to join as an Assistant Technical Officer. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge facilities, including a large low-speed wind tunnel and state-of-the-art acoustic testing laboratories, creating an engaging environment for research and development projects.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and documentation.
  • Assist in planning and executing acoustics experiments.
  • Provide technical support to users for sound and vibration measurements.
  • Conduct calibration and commissioning tests within the acoustic facility.
  • Undertake additional duties as delegated by the supervisor.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical and acoustic engineering, mechanical design, and instrumentation system development.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Preferred experience in relevant research fields and strong computer/IT skills.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
