We’re looking for an Accounts Clerk to join our team in Poeldijk, Netherlands on a permanent basis.


As our Accounts Clerk you will be responsible for providing essential accounting and administrative support to aid the efficient operation of the Finance department. This is a varied role and will involve responsibilities such as account reconciliation, preparation of reports and providing up to date and accurate financial data to support key decision making. This role will suit a candidate with a background ideally in commercial finance as either an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable expert.


Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and maintain precise accounting documents and records, adhering to established procedures and regulations.
• Accurately process bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements ensuring timely and correct entries.
• Reconcile accounts promptly and thoroughly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Efficiently input key financial transactions into the database daily.
• Track and resolve accounting or documentation discrepancies, escalating issues to relevant parties when necessary.
• Provide ad hoc assistance and support to the wider Finance team as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient working environment.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses as required.
• Maintain organised filing systems and records, ensuring easy accessibility and compliance with data retention policies.

Requirements

Experience we look for:

Essential

• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
• Previous experience in a commercial finance environment
• Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports

Desirable

• Experience of the fresh produce/food manufacturing industry would be beneficial but not essential
• Previous experience working with ERP systems is an advantage.
• During 2025, Westfalia Fruit will migrate to Microsoft D365, therefore previous experience with D365 is very welcome.
