Your role

In this role, You will be at the heart of our projects, guiding agile teams in making pivotal architecture decisions, and ensuring our architecture repository is top-notch. You’ll co-author essential standards, guidelines, and principles, and play a key role in drafting and implementing governance processes that keep our application landscape cutting-edge.
You will :

• Innovate and Guide: Support projects and agile teams in making critical architecture decisions
• Maintain Excellence: Keep our architecture repository and registers up-to-date and accurate
• Set Standards: Co-author architecture standards, guidelines, and principles that drive our application architecture
• Document and Design: Create detailed architecture decision documents and diagrams
• Govern and Lead: Draft and implement robust architecture governance processes
• Collaborate and Educate: Guide system owners and business analysts to adhere to governance processes ensuring our application landscape is well-managed and future-ready.

Our offer

The salary range for this role is around € 80-85 K (full time, gross per year), depending on your experience.

Your team

For this function you will work closely together with the senior Application Architect, who holds the chair of the Architecture Review Board. You also collaborate closely with the other architecture disciplines to ensure that the application landscape develops in coherence with the business and data architecture. As an Application Architect you will work directly in the department of Application Management with all application managers. The application managers are the operational experts of the FMO applications, and their knowledge is crucial input for architecture. At the same time, you will provide overview insights that the application managers need for managing their changes.
In FMO, we roughly make a distinction between 4 architecture layers: Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Application Architecture and Technology Architecture. This role is mainly meant for the Application Architecture layer, whilst having the responsibility to link it to the other layers.
We have a community of approximately 10 architects, covering all architecture layers.
All projects and changes need architecture approval. The approval is prepared by the Architecture Review Board and presented to the Architecture Board for decision making.

Your background

You are an IT architect with 2-3 years experience who is familiar with agile ways of working, has fun supporting the business with adequate applications and takes pride in being (or becoming) an expert on our application landscape and shaping its future. You also enjoy investigating technology solutions and visualizing business demands and technology opportunities.
You also are:

• A Skilled Communicator: Strong stakeholder management skills to navigate complex environments
• Knowledgeable: Familiar with Archimate or eager to learn it quickly. Experience with tools like Bizzdesign is a plus
• Tech-Savvy: Knowledge of integration technologies and current business application technologies. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a bonus
• Architect at Heart: You love supporting the business with effective applications, take pride in mastering our application landscape, and enjoy exploring and visualizing technology solutions.
