As Maersk Air Freight continues with its ambitious growth trajectory, we are now searching for a Global Air Freight Strategy, Network & Planning Manager. Although this role is being advertised in the Netherlands, the successful candidate can be based anywhere in Europe.

Purpose of the role

• Lead and manage network & capacity strategies for Maersk Airfreight business on a global scale.
• Ensure alignment with Gateway and Station leadership, to drive volumes through gateways and build Consolidations on the key trade lanes.
• Coordinate Network & Capacity communications on a regular basis.
• Coordinate OP1/2 process across the Network & Capacity team.
• Analyse and forecast airfreight financial performance (volumes, revenue, variable cost)
Work closely with Finance on budgets and forecasts.

What you’ll be doing:

Global responsibility for Network & Capacity strategies

• Develop and document Network & Capaciy overall strategy
• Create and maintain gateway & network routing guide
• Monitor Consolidation opportunity in the Gateways on top trade lanes, with the objective to lower Net Achieved Cost

Drive data-based improvements on continuous basis

• Drive implementation of the Maersk network strategy across regions, by implementing regular reviews
• Monitor KPIs net achieved cost & gateway utilization and identify opportunities for improvements

Drive new trade lane strategies to unlock new markets

• Define growth strategy for specific Trades, in alignment with Regions, Pricing (customers) and Procurement (airlines)
• Set-up pricing for new Trade Lanes in cooperation with areas

Coordinate forecast & budget input for Network & Capacity management

• Regular monitoring of volume & revenue trends, Maersk airfreight financials
• Sparring partner for Gt M on customer & volume forecast

Drive actions based on market & competitive insights across the air freight product

• Monitor global market volume trends – in alignment with Product Vertical - and leverage insights to increase planning accuracy

Coordinate OP1/2 planning process for Network & Capacity management

• Drafting OP1/2 memos and coordinating input across regions & other stakeholders
• Regular coordination with with BPE and FPO, including Cargo Wise implementation topics

Communication on Network & Capacity topics

• Weekly & monthly summary of airfreight volume and financial performance across regions/areas
• Create connectivity between the global airfreight community on achievements & learnings
